HARTFORD, Ky. — The Ohio County Park will host a community-wide Christmas party Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021. The Christmas party will be open to tornado victims from 4-6 p.m. and open to the community from 6-8 p.m.

The party will take place at the Ohio County Park in the buildings on the hill and the Ohio County Senior Center. A meal will be provided along with games and bouncy houses for the kids. Santa Claus will be there for photos.

From 4-6 p.m., families affected by the tornado can shop for new and gently used items for the whole family, including teenagers and toys for children.

At 6 p.m., all community families in need are invited to join the festivities.

At first, the Christmas party was a way to give back to the tornado victims, but due to the overwhelming response and donations, the event is open to the community, especially to anyone in need, as well as volunteers and first responders who have worked tirelessly during the storm cleanup.

There is no charge for anyone to attend. Everything has been donated for this effort, but there are still items needed.

Those items are:

  • Wrapping Paper
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Name Tags, Gift Bags
  • Teen and Pre-Teen gifts (gift cards to closing stores are a great idea)
  • New warm pajamas, all ages
  • New underwear (youth sizes girl and boy)
  • Craft supplies
  • New books (toddler and youth)
  • Christmas decorations
  • Food gift cards
