HARTFORD, Ky. —  Ohio County Judge-Executive David Johnston held a meeting with local organizations and county officials in order to coordinate the information being given out regarding tornado relief for those affected in the county.

Representatives from Ohio County Health Care, OC Sheriff Tracy Beatty, Parks Director Beau Wright, members of the media, and volunteers were in attendance.

Following the outbreak of tornadoes, Ohio County was originally left off the list of counties designated as federal disaster areas given there were no storm-related fatalities but Johnston and OC EMA director Charlie Shields have been assured Ohio County will be added to the list next early next week.

So far the county has received so many supplies for folks affected by the tornadoes they are working on ways to store it all.

“I’m so happy to live in Ohio County, Kentucky,” Johnston said. “The generosity of the people here, all you guys here, and many others, it’s absolutely amazing.”
