MORGANTOWN, Ky. — Johnny Darrell Hatcher, 75, of Morgantown, passed away on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center. He was born in Butler County, Kentucky, on Sept. 1, 1946, to the late Jewell and Catherine House Hatcher.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired from Holley Carburetors after 40 years. Darrell was an avid UK fan and enjoyed watching westerns.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juanita Smith Hatcher; brothers, David, Donald (Opal), Jerry (Barbara), and Charles Hatcher.

Darrell is survived by his children, Carolyn Engler and Joey Daugherty (Temple), of Morgantown, and Annette Morgan, of Hartford, Kentucky; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Connie S. Embry (Larry “Cotton”); several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, -nephews, and cousins; sisters-in-law, Barbara Hatcher and Earline Hatcher.

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. with Bro. John Cashion officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by the Ohio Co. Honor Guard. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 14 from 2:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until time of service.
