OLATON, Ky. — Candy Delayne Maiden Wilson, 57, of Olaton, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 15, 1964, in Jefferson County, Kentucky, to the late Charles E. Maiden and Jonell White, surviving.
Candy worked for the Ohio County Board of Education until her illness. She met the love of her life, and they went on their first date on Feb. 29 of a leap year, and they have been together ever since. Together they have a beautiful family and a host of friends. Candy enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, and quilting.
Aside from her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sheila Baize, and two brothers, Mark Swift and Roger Swift.
Candy leaves behind to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Terry Wilson, of Olaton; two loving sons, Nicholas (Stephanie) Wilson, of Horse Branch, Kentucky, and Lucas Wilson, of Olaton; one stepdaughter, Amanda Wilson, of Louisville, Kentucky; two grandchildren, McKenzie and Gatlin Wilson; mother, Jonell “Jodi” White, of McHenry, Kentucky; two brothers, Carl (Sandy) Swift, of New Baden, Illinois, and Charles E. Maiden Jr., of Horse Branch; one sister-in-law, Angelita Swift, of Horse Branch; two best friends and sisters at heart, Diana Cannon, of Horse Branch, and Debby (Walton) Renfrow, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Terry Tarrance officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery in Horse Branch. Friends may visit with Candy’s family from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the funeral home.
