Ohio County Healthcare offering COVID booster vaccine

HARTFORD, Ky. — Starting Oct. 25, Ohio County Healthcare began offering the booster dose of both Moderna and Pfizer at Ohio County Family Care at 20 McMurtry Avenue in Hartford. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 270-215-9082. Walk-ins are welcome, but your wait time may be reduced by scheduling an appointment.

Eligible community members include those who have previously completed the 2-dose series of the Moderna or Pfizer COVID vaccine at least six months prior and meet one of the following criteria:

  • Aged 65 or older
  • Aged 18 or older who …
  • Who live in a long-term care facility
  • Have underlying medical conditions o Work or live in high-risk settings

Additionally, OCH, in partnership with Com-Care Ambulance Service and Ohio County government officials, will be coordinating a drive-thru booster vaccination clinic for the next several weeks, for Moderna vaccines only, from 1-7 p.m. Wednesdays at the Ohio County Park. The Ohio County Park is at 2300 KY 69 in Hartford.

Upon entering the park, follow the directional signage to the building at the top of the hill.

Participants are asked to bring both their vaccination and insurance cards. Anyone who received their second shot on or before April 22, would be eligible for a booster dose of Pfizer or Moderna.

Ohio County Healthcare will not be offering booster doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, but it will be available at several of OCH’s local pharmacies. People who received this vaccine can opt to have a booster dose of Pfizer or Moderna at least two months after their primary dose at any participating location including OCH.
