FORDSVILLE, Ky. — Mary Alice McIntyre, 63, of Fordsville, joined her husband, Robert Ernest McIntyre, in Heaven on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021. Robert died on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021.
Robert and Mary Alice met as neighbors in Pattiville, Kentucky, and were married for 46 years. They were both members of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Robert was retired from Dunaway Timber Company and was a Navy veteran. Mary Alice was retired from US Bank.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Mona McIntyre; and a brother, David Wayne McIntyre.
Mary Alice was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, James Woods and Mary Ruth and Kelly Johnson; and brothers, Danny, David, and Charlie Woods.
They are survived by their daughters, Angie (Jared) Canary and Jessica McIntyre, both of Fordsville; five grandchildren, Daisy Canary, Xhaiden Morris, Jemma Bean, Ernest Cole McIntyre, and Wesley Estes; bonus children, Brandi Estes, of Fordsville, and William Freeman, of Carson City, Nevada; Robert’s brothers, Eddie (Becky) McIntyre and Pat McIntyre, both of Fordsville; his sisters, Tish (Roger) Vanover, Sharon Lee (Jody) Holley, Laura Elaine (Bert) Woods, and Melissa Kay McIntyre, all of Fordsville; and Mary Alice’s brothers, James A. (Cheryl) Woods, of Branchville, Indiana, Bert (Laura) Woods, of Fordsville, and Joe W. Woods, of Hartford, Kentucky.
Joint funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Pattiville. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with military honors for Robert by the Ohio County Honor Guard. Visitation for Robert and Mary Alice will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.
