HORSE BRANCH, Ky. — Sonya M. Burden, 40, of Horse Branch, passed away on Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on Aug. 4, 1981, in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Sonya was a member of Horse Branch General Baptist Church and she loved music and singing.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Wesley Lindsey; paternal grandmother, Elna Kidd; and biological grandmother, Ann Phelps.
She leaves behind to cherish many memories, her parents, Martha (Tim) Painter, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and Jerry (Renee) Burden, of Cromwell, Kentucky; her biological father, Robert (Karen) Phelps, of Cromwell; her son, Timothy Gullett; siblings, Chris (Angela) Burden, of Beaver Dam, Chris McDowell, of Cromwell, Austin Burden, of Cromwell, Tiffany Daugherty, of Owensboro, Ashley (Mitchell) Wallace, of Hartford, Kentucky, and April (Brian) Wilson, of Cromwell; maternal grandmother, Matilda Lindsey, of Beaver Dam; paternal grandparents, Bill Burden (Vernice) Trail, of Beaver Dam, and Jack Kidd, of Indiana; biological grandfather, Robert (Ruth) Phelps, of Cromwell; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Jay Raymond officiating. Burial will follow in Horse Branch General Baptist Church Cemetery in Horse Branch. Friends may visit with Sonya’s family from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
