MADISONVILLE, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet notified motorists of reconstruction in Ohio County at the I-165/KY 69 interchange, mile point 50.1. The project was added to the Recommended Highway Plan in 2018 and will improve the functionality and safety by bringing this interchange up to current interstate standards.
Crews will begin clearing and grubbing on Monday, Oct. 4. The clearing of brush, trees, stumps and rubbish is anticipated to continue for 2 – 3 months.
Variable message boards will be in place throughout the project to alert motorists of changes in work activities.
The project is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2022
Scotty’s Contracting and Stone, LLC was awarded the low bid at $7,897,577.
