LEITCHFIELD, Ky. — Thurston Ray Howard, 78, of Leitchfield, passed away Friday, Aug. 27, 2021, at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center in Leitchfield. He was born Sept. 30, 1942, in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, the son of the late Willie D. and Virginia Wilson Howard.
Thurston loved living. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, watching wrestling and western movies but most of all enjoyed family get-togethers.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Gilbert Larry Elder; one half-sister, Connie M Shaffer; and one half-brother, Michael E. Howard.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Vincent Howard; three daughters, Maggie Vincent, Tina Michelle Howard, and Melissa Kay Coates (Michael); one son, Lloyd Howard (Lori); six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one half-brother, Donald W. “Hoppy” Howard; and one half-sister, Sandra A. Howard.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. (noon) on Thursday, Sept. 2, at Watson & Hunt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations to help with the funeral expenses.
