HARTFORD, Ky. — James E. Tinsley, 81, of Hartford, passed away Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born Sept. 10, 1939, in Hartford, to the late Reuben Edgar Tinsley and Anna Carter Tinsley.

Mr. Tinsley retired from Youngs Manufacturing after 44 years of service. He was a member of Liberty Lighthouse Church of God.

Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Linda Lou Dockery Tinsley, and his brother, Glendell Brooks Tinsley.

Mr. Tinsley leaves behind to treasure many memories three daughters, Mary (Randy) Allen, of Morgantown, Kentucky, Vear Tinsley, of Hartford, and Karen (Peter) Baldus, of Alvaton, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Brandy (Andrew) Johnson, Charity Turner, and Jasmine Allen; five great-grandchildren, Payton, Katelyn, and Brooklyn Johnson, and Addison and Ethan Alexander; a sister, Octiva Payne, of Owensboro, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law, along with other family members.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Ryan Himes officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may visit with Mr. Tinsley’s family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
