HARTFORD, Ky. — Ohio County Schools, with help from the federal government, will be taking a bit of financial pressure off parents for the upcoming school year as student breakfasts and lunches will be provided for free.
According to Dianna Wilson, director of nutrition, the Ohio County Board of Education will be taking part in the Seamless Summer Option of the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program.
As part of this program, Beaver Dam Elementary, Fordsvile Elementary, Horse Branch Elementary, Ohio County High School, Ohio County Middle School, Render Education Center, Southern Elementary, Wayland Elementary, Western Elementary will offer healthy meals every school day at no cost to all enrolled students and children age 18 and younger for the 2021-2022 school year.
Students and all community children age 18 and younger will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a household application.
