HORSE BRANCH, Ky. — Betty Geary, 80, of Horse Branch, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at her home. She was born on June 9, 1941, in Horse Branch, to the late Zebdee and Cova Imus Hayse.
She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Baizetown, Kentucky, and was the owner and operator of Granny’s Grocery in Horse Branch.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Richard Geary; one daughter, Sherry Doolin; two brothers, and six sisters.
She leaves behind to cherish many memories, her children, Gerald (Kay) Geary, Judy (John) Hayse, and Brenda Payton, all of Horse Branch, and Larry (Kim) Geary, of Island, Kentucky; two brothers and four sisters. Betty was blessed with eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. (CST) Friday, July 30, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Phillip Embry officiating. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. (EST) in Highland Memorial Gardens in Mt. Washington, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Betty’s family from 4 p.m. until 8 P.M. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
