OWENSBORO, Ky. — Do you know a local person or community who deserves regional recognition? The Green River Area Development District invites you to nominate them for a 2021 GRADD Annual Award.

Since 2002, GRADD has honored three individuals each year with Regional Excellence Awards:

• The Charles Reid Regional Citizenship Award is presented to a citizen from the public or private sector who has played a major role in regional development efforts.

• The Texal Brooks Regional Leadership Award is presented to a current or former GRADD Board or committee member who has demonstrated outstanding regional leadership.

• The Wendell Ford Legislative Leadership Award is presented to a local, state or nationally elected official who has dedicated his/her life to working with legislative issues and services for our region’s citizens.

Established in 2008, the GRADD Community of the Year Award honors a city or county that has initiated significant efforts to improve the quality of life for its residents.

“GRADD’s Regional Excellence Awards annually recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to improving the quality of life within our communities,” said GRADD’s Executive Director Joanna Shake. “Past recipients have demonstrated a dedication to not only public service but have also displayed exemplary leadership. We are excited to continue our Annual Awards tradition and look forward to honoring our 2021 regional champions.”

The deadline to submit nominations is Monday, Aug. 30, 2021. Winners will be announced at the GRADD Annual Event on Thursday evening, Sept. 23, at the RiverPark Center in Owensboro.
