BEAVER DAM, Ky. — On this day, Sunday, July 4, 2021, Agatha Johnson Hillard went to be with Our Lord and Savior.
Agatha was a devoted Christian and a member of the Beaver Dam Church of Christ. She loved bird watching, planting flowers, and gardening. You could often see her sitting on her front porch enjoying being outside.
Agatha is preceded in death by her parents, Noble and Dessie Johnson, and several brothers and sisters, Victor Johnson, Durl Johnson, Ricky Johnson, Gaynell Johnson Morris, and Mary Johnson Reddish. Agatha is also preceded in death by her late husband, James N. Embry, and three great-grandchildren, Clayton Embry, Isaiah West, and Adley Johnson
Family members who will see her on the banks of Jordan are her husband of 32 years, Ronald “Ivan” Hillard; siblings, Monia Johnson Moore, Vernece Johnson Trail, and Burl Johnson; her children, James “Eddie” Embry, Teresa Embry Tichenor, and Angela Embry; and two stepdaughters, Kathy Embry, and Patty Embry Goodman. Agatha was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Agatha requested that there be no funeral service, but a celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Songs will be sung per her request, and everyone is welcome to attend.
