HARTFORD, Ky. — The Kentucky Cancer Program, after receiving a grant from the Kentucky Breast Cancer Trust Fund, has partnered with Ohio County HealthCare to provide a special mammography screening event tomorrow, June 29, for Medicaid women in need of breast cancer screening.

Women have been pre-identified and scheduled to receive their mammograms, on the day of the event, by OCH staff. Those who were pre-identified had to meet grant criteria in order to be scheduled that day. The criteria consisted of women, aged 50-64, who have not had a mammogram in the past two years.

Those pre-identified women, after receiving the mammogram, will receive a free personal care pampering gift.

In addition to those who have been pre-identified and scheduled, the Kentucky Cancer Program and OCH will provide the community with cancer screening and cancer prevention (colon, lung cancer, smoking cessation, cervical) educational information, door prizes and additional giveaways tomorrow, June 29.

Both the Kentucky Cancer Program and OCH will be in the lobby of the Ohio County Hospital beginning at 8 a.m. tomorrow, June 29. The public is invited to come and receive more information about services offered through Ohio County HealthCare and the Kentucky Cancer Program.
