MADISONVILLE, Ky. — A contractor will begin the process of installing a turn lane for the Southern Elementary School in Ohio County.
Once complete, the right turn lane will be utilized by U.S. 231 southbound motorists turning right into the school.
The work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, June 16, with completion set for the end of the month. The contractor will be utilizing lane closures, reduced lane widths, and flagging operations to complete the work. The location of the work is at mile point 5.1 on U.S. 231.
KYTC asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expect delays and utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.
The start and duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra time in reaching their destination.
