OWENSBORO, Ky. — Owensboro Community & Technical College is celebrating our graduates with multiple ceremonies on our Main Campus May 11-13, 2021.
Walk-through events are scheduled for Blandford Hall all three evenings where graduates have reserved times in advance. Students will attend with their families, receive a diploma cover, a photo with the president, and then a photo with their family. OCTC will share the digital pics with the students on social media.
“We are thrilled that so many students have signed up for these events. We are excited to be able to offer these options to our graduates from this year and last year. It will be wonderful to celebrate with our students again,” said Dr. Scott Williams, OCTC president.
For those who prefer to remain outside, a drive-through event is available Thursday evening. The faculty and staff are invited to attend this celebration, socially distanced, and line the parking lot in front of the Humanities Building to cheer on the graduates who will receive their diploma curbside.
Graduates from May and December 2020 were invited to participate. Over 220 students have registered to date.
The GED drive-through graduation event will begin at 6:45 Thursday evening, graduates also reserved times in advance. OCTC’s SkillTrain, at the Downtown Campus, 1501 Frederica Street, administers GED prep and testing for Daviess and Ohio counties in Kentucky. More than 200 GED graduates are listed in the program, including graduates from 2020.
