HARTFORD, Ky. — Donna Margaret Jane Phillips Kraemer Trogden, 78, of Hartford, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021 in Hartford. She was born Sept. 23, 1942, in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Vernon and Eula Phillips Kraemer.
Donna’s sassy yet hilarious wit would make anyone who met her laugh. She had a way of lightening the mood when anyone needed it most. She had a love and talent for cooking, but her highlight was biscuits and gravy that turned into a family favorite attempted to be replicated by her children and grandchildren for years to come. She loved feeding the hummingbirds and squirrels around her log cabin home and had a special love for her favorite dog, Bear Bear.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Eula Phillips Kraemer and Gladys Phillips Hamilton, and a grandson, Rudy Trogden.
Left to honor Donna’s memory are her husband of 59 years, James Edward Trogden; two daughters, Lisa Trogden Smith and Lelah Trogden; and six grandchildren, Joey Trogden Smith, Peter Trogden Smith, Sammy Trogden Smith, Tony Trogden Smith, Nate Decker, and Kenlee Decker.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, at Miller Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
All who wish to honor Donna at the visitation and funeral are required to wear a mask while inside the funeral home for the safety of all those in attendance.
