CLOVERPORT, Ky. — Joseph Wayne Martin, 60, of Cloverport, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021, under the care of Western Kentucky Hospice at The Heartford House in Owensboro, Kentucky, surrounded by his family. He was born in Glen Dean, Kentucky, on March 7, 1961, the son of the late Fred and Mary Ruth Ferry Martin.
He loved driving the skidder while logging and playing Phase 10 with his Aunt Maggie. He was an avid fisherman, spending as much time as possible with his son in his boat, enjoying a day on the lake.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his baby brother, Wendall Ray Martin.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Bobbi Jo Martin, of Hartford, Kentucky; son, Jacob Ray (Erica) Martin, of Hartford; three grandchildren, Harleigh Pullen, Jamison Pullen, and Tyanna Smith; brother, Roger Martin, of Hardinsburg, Kentucky; a very special aunt, Maggie Hale, of McQuady, Kentucky; and several cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Monday, April 19, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Clyde Shaffer officiating. Burial will be in the Glen Dean Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Monday after 9 a.m.
