HARTFORD, Ky. — Virginia P. White, 90, of Hartford, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021, at Grayson Nursing & Rehab in Leitchfield, Kentucky. She was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Hartford, the daughter of Robert Lee and Evie Felty Embry.
Virginia was a hard-working woman who enjoyed working on her lawn and flowers. She was especially proud to be able to still run a chain saw and mow seven acres at the age of 90.
Aside from her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, John William White Sr., and one sister Mildred Nelson.
Left to honor Virginia’s memory are her daughter, Susan Baxley (Terry), of Hartford; her son, John White (Mary Jo), of Olaton, Kentucky; one granddaughter, April Coble (Jeremy); and three siblings, Odrey Embry (Cova), Louise Foreman, and Carroll Embry (Sharon).
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. noon on Tuesday, April 13, at Miller Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford with Pastor Jeremy Ruegg officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3409 Wathen’s Crossing, Owensboro, Kentucky 42301. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
All who wish to honor Virginia at the visitation and funeral are required to wear a mask while inside the funeral home for the safety of all those in attendance.
