OWENSBORO, Ky. — Owensboro Community & Technical College’s Women in Support of Education group is hosting Olga McKissic for a virtual event in honor of Women’s History Month. The presentation “Celebrating Black Women Pioneers” will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 25, via zoom.
Olga McKissic was born and raised in Owensboro. She is a graduate of Owensboro High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Spaulding University and a Master of Theology degree from Campbellsville University. McKissic worked for BellSouth for thirty years and retired as a Corporate Trainer and Sales Team Manager in Business Marketing in Louisville, Kentucky. She then moved into the financial sector and was named the Operations Manager at Marshall Capital Management Group.
In 2015, McKissic moved back to Owensboro and is currently an associate minister at Fourth Street Baptist Church, serves as the Executive Director of the H.L. Neblett Community Center and is Director of Western Academy at The Neblett Center.
OCTC’s WISE group is an organization within the college, that raises funds and awareness for women’s issues. They award scholarships annually through the OCTC Scholarship Committee.
