OWENSBORO, Ky. — Kenneth ‘Wayne’ Blakeley, 62, of Owensboro, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Kenneth Duaine Blakeley was born Nov. 15, 1958, in Owensboro, to Joe Kenneth and Willena Katheryn Jones Blakeley, and was better known as ‘Wayne’ to both his family and friends.
Wayne worked as a truck driver for 19 years and was a member of the Baptist faith. He was a friend to all, enjoyed playing pool and spending time with both his family and friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Joe Blakeley; by his stepfathers, Dean Ellis and Earl Sutton; and by a daughter, Rebecca May Blakeley.
Survivors include his mother, Willena “Jody” Sutton, of Sacramento, Kentucky; two daughters, April Dykes (Macky), of Owensboro, and Samantha Smith (Ray), of Livermore, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Marcus Dykes, Jasmine Dykes, and Karen May Batemen; two brothers, Bill Blakeley, of Sacramento, and David Blakeley (Chasity), of Hartford, Kentucky; two stepbrothers, Lee Sutton (Sylvia), of Sacramento, and James D. Ellis (Wendy), of Philadelphia; a stepsister, Debbie Cravens (John), of Orange Grove, Florida; and a special friend, Amanda Laney, of Owensboro.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Promise Seekers Church; 650 Royal Cypress Drive; Sacramento, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Wayne’s family from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday at the church. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Wayne’s family.
In compliance with health and public safety directives, the capacity for Wayne’s visitation and funeral service will be limited in accordance with state guidelines. Due to the governor’s mandate, masks or facial coverings are required during all services.
