BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Charles Maiden, 79, of Beaver Dam, passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021, surrounded by his family at his residence under the care of Hospice of Ohio County. He was born March 28, 1941, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Homer Maiden and Virginia Snodgrass Hayes.
He was a retired coal miner.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Jackie Maiden, Sue Chinn, Kathy Jo Maiden, Ralph Maiden, and Patricia Shephard.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 34 years, Patty Maiden, of Beaver Dam; seven children, Scott (Donna) Maiden, of McHenry, Kentucky, Amanda (Joey) Dockery, of Morgantown, Kentucky, Barry Maiden, of Beaver Dam, Gary (Ann) Maiden, of Cromwell, Kentucky, Shannon Bryant, of Hartford, Kentucky Debbie Maze, of Beaver Dam, and Sherry Duff, of Beaver Dam; 12 grandchildren, Shaun (Genieva) Maiden, Daniel (Kayla) Maiden, Matt (Sabrina) Bryant, Jake Bryant, Tyler Bryant, Ryan Duff, Lilly Dockery, Hannah Dockery, Ashley Hazelwood, Josh Maze, Melissa Creek, and Jessica Maze; several great-grandchildren; three siblings, Judy Goff, Margaret Belford and Sandy (Orville) Baize; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Dennis Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Horse Branch, Kentucky. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
