HARTFORD, Ky. — The Ohio County Chamber of Commerce is warning the public about a scam involving unemployment insurance benefits.

According to email sent out to Ohio County Chamber of Commerce’s members, many Kentuckians have reported they’ve received fraudulent letters stating they are entitled to unemployment insurance benefits. The fraudulent letter was made to look as though it came from the state’s offices.

The Chamber of Commerce received confirmation from Governor Andy Beshear’s Office that these letters are not from the state. The Governor’s Office asks anyone who receives one of these fraudulent letters to never give anyone your personal information and to report the letter to the state.

If you receive a letter like the one below, or suspect you have had a fraudulent UI claim, email that information to UIfraud@ky.gov.
