UTICA, Ky. — Mike Heltsley, 64, of Utica, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Michael Ray Heltsley was born April 11, 1956, in Calhoun, Kentucky, to the late Raymond and Bertha Cardwell Heltsley.
Mike was a proud 1974 Graduate of McLean County High School and a member of the Baptist Faith. After graduation, he went on to start working at the former Charles Chips Plant in Calhoun and eventually would move on to a long career with Ragu / Unilever in Owensboro from which he retired in 2014.
In his spare time, Mike loved to go fishing, rooting for his Kentucky Wildcats, collecting coins, relaxing to a wide variety of music, and spending time with both his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by a sister, Ramona Epley.
Survivors include two sons, Tim Heltsley (Lexie Boarman), of Utica, and Eric Heltsley (Tonika), of McHenry, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Felicity, Arianna, Wyatt, Atticus, and Waylon; and a sister, Alice Baker (John), of Altus, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with Dr. Richard Sams officiating. Friends may visit with Mike’s family from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Friday at Musters in Calhoun, Kentucky.
In compliance with health and public safety directives, the capacity for Mike’s visitation and funeral service will be limited in accordance with state guidelines. Due to the Governor’s mandate, masks or facial coverings are required during all services.
