MORGANTOWN, Ky. — Nellie Myrl McIntosh, 87, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at her residence. Nellie Myrl was born on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 1933, in Butler County, Kentucky, to the late Hilery Sr. and Allie Mae Young Johnson and wife of the late Ellis Lee McIntosh.
She was a member of Leonard Oak General Baptist Church where she served as treasurer for many years and a member of the Eastern Star. Nellie retired from the Butler County Board of Education and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by one grandson, Jeff “Boomer” Reneer; one brother, Hilery “Jim Bat” Johnson Jr.; and one sister Shirley Embry.
Nellie Myrl McIntosh is survived by one daughter, Linda Reneer and husband, Billy, of Morgantown; two sons, Michael McIntosh and wife, Vickie, of Louisville, Kentucky, and Jimmy McIntosh and wife, Jewel, of Morgantown; two sisters, Noami West, of Morgantown, and Doris McPhearson and husband, Bobby, of Morgantown; three brothers, Lessie Johnson and wife, Jolene, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Diddle Johnson and wife, Sandy, of Morgantown, and Layman Johnson and wife, Gaylene, of Morgantown; five grandchildren, Chris Reneer, Travis McIntosh (Amber), Jenel Barks (Nathan), all of Morgantown, Becky Linton (Trevis), of Winnipeg, Canada, and Craig McIntosh (Kim), of Louisville; 15 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Thursday, Jan. 28, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Randall Deweese officiating. Burial will be held in the Hill Haven Memory Gardens where Billy, Chris and Noah Reneer, Michael, Jimmy, Travis, and Craig McIntosh, and Richard West will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 27, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday 8 a.m. until funeral time at 1 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
