Shirley Funk Hardesty Wells

BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Shirley Funk Hardesty Wells, 80, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at her home. She was born on May 3, 1940, to the late McGlone and Grace Poole Funk.

She was a member of Clear Run Baptist Church in Hartford, Kentucky, and she was a retired nurse’s aide.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Wells; one son, Bruce Hardesty; daughter-in-law, Donna Hardesty; son-in-law, Eddie Evans; three brothers, Jimmy Funk, Billy Funk and Gail Funk, and one sister, Eileen Wilson.

She leaves behind to cherish many memories, her children, Linda Evans, of Beaver Dam, Brenda Cotton, of Beaver Dam, Mark (Michelle) Hardesty, of Beaver Dam, and Danny (Kelly) Hardesty, of Hartford; two brothers, Bobby (Hilda) Funk and Carol (Patty) Funk; two sisters, Ellen Wakefield and Amy Sue (Terry) Crane; 10 grandchildren, Kristy (Larry) Statts, Coren (Jason) McConnell, Aaron Evans, Shannon (Tommy) Mattos, Chad Cotton, Felicia Hardesty, Haley Daugherty, Sidney (Ian) Ross, Ashley (Chris) Luke, and Levi Hardesty; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Richard Wakefield officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Run Cemetery in Hartford. Friends may visit with the family of Ms. Wells from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
