MORGANTOWN, Ky. — Monica Gayle Hunt, 63, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, at her residence. She was born Nov. 6, 1957, in Butler County, Kentucky, to the late Wendell and Mae Lue Lindsey Flener.

Monica was a retired registered nurse for the Barren River District Health Department and enjoyed working in her yard, sewing and visiting family and friends, and going out to eat. She deeply loved her family but most of all she loved the Lord. Monica was a member of Green River Missionary Baptist Church.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Rickey Flener; and grandparents, Hershel and Glennie Flener, and Nola Lindsey Cardwell.

Monica Gayle Hunt is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Keith Hunt, of Morgantown; one sister, Kathy Phelps (Ricky), of Cromwell, Kentucky; three sisters-in-law, Christine Phelps (Martin), of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Janice Brown (Larry), of Russellville, Kentucky, and Jacquttia Whitaker (Billy), of Bowling Green, Kentucky; one brother-in-law Robert Hunt (Betty), of Morgantown; and three aunts, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In light of the current health and safety risk, the Hunt family has requested that all visitation and funeral services be privately held at the Jones Funeral Chapel with Bro. Mitch Ash officiating. A private burial will be held in the Hill Haven Memory Gardens.
