HARTFORD, Ky. — The doors to the Ohio County Courthouse will be locked until further notice, though the offices inside will still be open, according to Ohio County Clerk Bess Ralph.

If you need services from the Ohio County PVA, Ohio County Sheriff’s Office or the Clerk’s Office, call ahead before coming to the courthouse. The offices are not closed, but you will need to call ahead to receive instructions on how each office can help you.

The phone number for the PVA is 270-298-4433, the Sherriff’s Office phone number is 270-298-4444 and the Clerk’s Office can be reached at 270-298-4422, 298-4423 and 298-4424.

The reason for the lockdown is due to Ohio County’s being named a red zone county by the state. Ohio County has seen a rapid rise in new confirmed COVID-19 cases over the last two weeks.

The offices are doing business in a different way in order to help keep everyone safe during this time.

A county is designated as a red zone county when the county reports more than 25 new daily cases of COVID-19 per every 100,000 people.
