HARTFORD, Ky. — Bertie Faye Young, 69, of Hartford, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born Dec. 25, 1950, in Williamsburg, Kentucky, to the late Rufus Groves and Bertha Raines Groves.
Mrs. Young was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and she was a registered nurse at Ohio County Healthcare.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Raines; one sister, Virginia Croley; and an infant sister, Jeanette Groves.
She leaves behind to cherish many memories her husband of 52 years, Dennis Young, of Hartford; two children, Denise Shocklee, of Hartford, and Angelena Allen, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Amber (Randy) Davis, Laura (Levi) Wilson, Jacob Allen, Noah Perkins, Aaron Allen, and Lillian Allen; five great-grandchildren, Cali, Caroline, Carrigan, Camree, Layah, and Locke, arriving next month; two brothers, Ronald Raines, of Michigan, and George Frances (Vivian) Groves, of Illinois; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny (Sandra) Young, of Beaver Dam, Watson (Lana) Fields, of Beaver Dam, Ruth (Cecil) Geary, of Beaver Dam, Helen Ashby, of Beaver Dam, Jim (Ruth) Fields, of Hartford, Jerry (Betty) Fields, of Morganfield, Kentucky, Tammy Walker, of Williamsburg, Clara (Gary) Hoskins, of Ohio, Stephen Little, of Beaver Dam, Sharon Banks, of Irvine, Kentucky, Archie Perkins, of Williamsburg, and David (Freda) Young ,of Florida.
Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. John Cashion officiating. Friends may visit with Mrs. Young’s family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
