Important dates for Nov. 3 election, early voting begins Oct. 13

OHIO COUNTY, Ky. — As the Nov. 3, 2020, General Election draws nearer, there are some important dates voters should keep in mind leading up to Election Day.

One date to remember is Oct. 9, 2020, and it’s for those concerned about contracting or spreading COVID-19. Registered voters can request absentee ballots through the online portal through Oct. 9. After Oct. 9, voters can still visit the County Clerk’s Office to request an absentee ballot.

Mailed absentee ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 3 and received by the County Clerk’s Office by Nov. 6. Drop boxes will be available to return mail ballots if you’re concerned about postal delays. County Clerk Bess Ralph will determine these locations

Early voting at the County Clerk’s Office begins Oct. 13, 2020, the next date to keep in mind. Early voting in the clerk’s office will take place from 8 a.m-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday between Oct. 13 and Nov. 2, and from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Oct. 17, 24 and 31.

For those who want to vote in-person on Election Day, Nov. 3, there will be two polling locations, one at the Ohio County High School and the other will be at the Fordsville Elementary School.
