ROSINE, Ky. — Jerry Parson Sr., 76, formerly of Rosine, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020. He was born on Oct. 9, 1943, in Luxora, Arkansas, to the late Fred and Thelma Parson.
Jerry worked many years in construction in Florida and in his later years worked his farm in Rosine caring for his dogs, sheep, and other animals.
Aside from is parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Vonda Woods, and three brothers-in-law, Leonard Lamb, Jim Daugherty, and Larry Woods.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Parson, of Rosine; a son, Jerry M. Parson Jr., of Rosine; three sisters, Carolyn (Jim) Daugherty, of Centertown, Kentucky, Ruby (Charlie) Daugherty, of Centertown, Joan (Lenard) Lamb, of Centertown; two brothers, Larry (Dorothy) Parson, of Glen Saint Mary, Florida, and Fred (Janie) Parson, of Centertown; and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral is 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Sister Stacy Shepherd and Bro. Kenny Shepherd officiating. Family visitation is from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday and public viewing is from 11 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Daugherty Cemetery in Centertown.
