HARTFORD, Ky. — Shirlye Anne Johnson Price, daughter of the late Earl Reide and Frances Elizabeth Rose Johnson, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 11, 2020. She was born May 29, 1933, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Shirlye graduated in 1951 from Campbellsville High School and completed one year at Campbellsville College before moving to Hartford. She worked at Hartford Deposit Bank until marriage to her husband of 60 years, Dr. Charles Lee Price, on Oct. 23, 1954. She then worked at Lincoln Bank and Trust in Louisville.
Shirlye was a long-time member of Hartford Baptist Church and served two years as president of the Hartford Juniors Woman’s Club. She was an active member of the Ohio County Hospital Auxiliary.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and, in later years, participated in the Ohio County Senior Choir.
She is survived by her four children Pam (Keith) Koonce, Sandy Cuzzort, Brenda (Stuart) Perigo, and Chuck (Vanessa) Price. Shirlye was very proud of her 10 grandchildren: Steven Koonce, Adam Cuzzort, Brian Koonce, Laura Cuzzort Fulkerson, Reide Perigo, Derek Perigo, Matthew Cuzzort, Kyle Perigo, Kip Price, and Karis Price. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, and her sister, Patricia (Don) Cox.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 16, at Miller Schapmire Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 15, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
All those who wish to honor and remember Mrs. Price in person at the visitation or service are encouraged to wear a mask while inside the funeral home for the safety of all those in attendance.
