BAIZETOWN, Ky. — Corene Wilson, 96, of Baizetown, passed away June 4, 2020, at Ohio County Healthcare in Hartford, Kentucky. She was born July 13, 1923, in the Mt. Pleasant Community of Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Justis and Sarah Alice Evans Wilson.
She was a seamstress when her daughter was growing up. She made clothes for people in her community and surrounding areas. Ms. Wilson taught Sunday School at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and Sugar Grove Church of Christ at Renfrow. She took care of her mother, older sister, Donnie, and her father all before they passed away. Ms. Wilson worked at Cowden’s for a short time. She helped raise her grandson’s. She raised a big garden, cooked and canned. Ms. Wilson loved her family and was a very sweet, kind, and good Christian woman.
Preceding her in death were two sisters, Donnie Wilson and Irene Woosley; five brothers, Delmar, Lester Lionel, Clarence, Charles and Foy Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
Remaining to cherish her memory are one daughter, Rebecca Lynn Morris, of Baizetown; three grandsons, Steven Ray (Diana) Morris, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Paul David Morris, of Horse Branch, Kentucky, and Timothy Wayne Morris, of Louisville, Kentucky; three great-grandchildren, Madison Grayce Morris and Mavrik Blane Morris, of Utica, Kentucky, and Steven Alexander Parrish Morris, of Roundhill, Kentucky; stepgranddaughter, Sarah; four nieces and four nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 14, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Mike Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In compliance with health and public safety directives, capacity will be limited in accordance with state guidelines.
