HORSE BRANCH, Ky. — Victoria “Vickie” Jean Ross Murphy, 67, of Horse Branch, went to her heavenly home at 1:48 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2020, with husband and children at her side at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born June 13, 1952, in Ohio County, Kentucky to the late Milburn B. Ross and Edwinna Baize Ross.
Vickie always had a smile on her face and enough room in her heart for everyone. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and an amazing sister and aunt. Vickie was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Ethel and Cordelia Murphy; brothers-in-law, J.C. Smith, Louis Murphy, and Roger Ferguson; and sister-in-law, Costella Helfin.
She leaves behind to treasure many wonderful memories, her husband of 38 years, Jeff Murphy; two children, Misty Corum and Andrew Murphy (April), all of Horse Branch; six grandchildren, Trenton (Autumn), Soleol, Logan, Bailey, Brylie, and Jacey; five siblings, Mitchell “Mickey” (Chris) Ross, Myron Franklin (Linda) Ross, Frances Shirlene (Danny) Maddox, Rachel Laurette (Jimmy) Byrd, and Judith Pauline Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of visitation, there will be a drive-through caravan in remembrance on Saturday, May 2, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Follow the posted signs to direct you to the viewing area. The family requests that you please come as you are and drive through to pay your respects. Due to safety directives, please do not exit your car, but you can roll down your window and show your support to Vickie’s family.
