HARTFORD, Ky. — Ohio County Healthcare provided its daily update on the COVID-19 pandemic in Ohio County. In the update, OCH informed those who may not have known that Ohio County has one more confirmed case of COVID-19 bringing the total cases to 41. In addition to one new COVID-19 patient, one patient recovered from the disease bringing the total recovered to 12 patients. At this time there are 29 active COVID-19 cases in Ohio County.
Earlier this evening at the Ohio County Fiscal Court meeting, Ohio County Judge-Executive David Johnston reported there were between 100-110 Perdue Farms employees who had contracted COVID-19. Johnston told by the Green River District Health Department 24-25 of those Perdue employees were Ohio County residents.
Later on in the meeting, First District Magistrate Sam Small, who works at Perdue Farms, said most of the cases were related to work carpools and groups of family members who work at the plant. According to Johnston, most of the patients were infected outside of work and not at work.
Between its three screening centers, OCH has tested 372 total patients, and over 100 patients in the last 72 hours, with 80 results still pending. Visit OCHcares.com for screening, testing and treatment information.
The safety of patients and staff will continue to guide all resumption of service decisions made by OCH. OCH has fully implemented the required infection control measures outlined in Phase 1 and will continue to build upon these measures in the coming weeks.
“As we follow the guidelines established by state & federal government, OCH will move forward with the opening of departments and services, in a manner that is deliberate, cautious and most importantly, in a way that, to the extent possible, assures the safety to the community, patients, and employees,” said Blaine Pieper, OCH CEO.
Additional details on how Phase 1 measures will impact healthcare services will be outlined in this week’s daily updates from OCH.
