HARTFORD, Ky. — Ohio County High School Seniors had to be devastated as the COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc with their last year, however, the Class of 2020 isn’t going down without a fight. OCHS Principal Robby Asberry this week announced dates for both senior prom and graduation for the Class of 2020.

In a letter to students, parents and guardians, Asbery, after meeting with this year’s senior class officers, decided to set dates for prom and graduation in early August.

“We did not want to continue to set dates that would end up being canceled and rescheduled throughout the summer,” Asberry said in his letter. “We wanted to set the dates before the start of college and our next school year.”

Class of 2020 Senior Prom will be held Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020, at the Owensboro Riverpark Center. Tickets will be sold at the door.

The Class of 2020 Graduation Ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, 2020, at OCHS.

In addition to prom and graduation, the Class of 2020 will also be honored with a senior slide show, and end of school year graduation tribute and a spring sports senior day tribute.
