HARTFORD, Ky. — Ohio County Healthcare has posted its daily COVID-19 update on its Facebook page. Ohio County had no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 today and has had a total of 11 cases. Of those 11, two are now hospitalized and three have recovered.
By partnering with three additional labs, OCH has increased testing capability and also reduced the length of time to get results. Currently, OCH has tested 80 people, an additional 20 patients since yesterday and have 17 pending results.
OCH recognizes the livelihood of many area residents has been impacted by the mandates in place to minimize the spread of COVID-19. For those who have lost their health insurance or experienced a reduced income, you may now be eligible for Presumptive Medicaid coverage. Call 270-504-1300 to be scheduled to complete a telephone application.
The Presumptive Medicaid initiative provides uninsured residents with the opportunity to receive immediate health care services through Medicaid if they are presumed to be eligible. The guidelines for eligibility have changed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For those who need access to additional community resources, call 2-1-1 or search Green River 2-1-1 for contact information to many area services. Examples of resources could be food pantry, heating/cooling assistance, etc.
The 2-1-1 service is powered by local United Way agencies. OCH appreciates all Ohio Countians who have contributed to United Way through employee campaigns or private donations that helped fund the 2-1-1 service. As stated by David Ross, CEO of United Way of Ohio Valley, “In this time of uncertainty, we are proud to be part of the #TeamKentucky effort to make sure people are connected to the help they need. As we move forward as a UNITED Ohio County, we will come out of this stronger than before.”
