BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Ira Glen “Slick” Phelps, 92, of Beaver Dam, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Beaver Dam Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born May 16, 1927, to the late Ira Phelps and Avie Smith Phelps.
Glen was a truck driver and mechanic. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Louise Phelps; a daughter, Linda L. Decker; and eight siblings.
Survivors include five grandchildren, Donnie Ashby, Cindy Bratcher, Alex J. Bratcher III (Robin Dartt), Kevin Bratcher (Kimberly), and Crystal Turner (John); nine great-grandchildren, Jordan Turner, Breanna Turner, Trenton Turner, Colby Burden, Matthew Bratcher, Star Bratcher, Alexis Filback, Johnathan Bratcher, and Deanna Jones; and a sister, Christine Embry of Horse Branch, Kentucky.
In compliance with health and public safety directives, private services will be held. Burial will be in Mason Cemetery in Rockport, Kentucky. William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky has been entrusted with the arrangements.
