HARTFORD, Ky. — Ohio County may be on the way to having its first confirmed cases of COVID-19 as Ohio County Healthcare is awaiting test results for seven patients.
Ohio County Healthcare just reported on its Facebook page, the hospital has currently received approval to screen nine patients and is awaiting test results on seven of those patients. At this point, Ohio County does not have any confirmed COVID-19 cases.
According to OCH, “We appreciate our community being good neighbors and working together to minimize the spread of this virus. We are seeing the results of your #HealthyatHome habits and are grateful for your efforts.”
OCH has put new measures in place to assure people can receive safe and timely healthcare.
Access to Care:
All OCH Facilities are open and ready to care for patients. If you have an appointment in any OCH facility, call ahead and for curb-side registration. This will allow you to stay in your car until the time of treatment.
All OCH provider practices, Ohio County Family Care in Hartford and Beaver Dam, Ohio County Quick Care and Ohio County Specialty Care have implemented virtual visits through smartphone access. Call your provider’s office to schedule a one-on-one video consultation for acute and chronic conditions, medication refills and COVID-19 screenings. OCH wants patients to be able to access care during normal office hours while practicing social distancing. OCH is working on implementing virtual visits in the Butler Co. Family Care and Fordsville Area Medical Clinic.
COVID 19 Screening:
Before seeking care, call the OCH COVID-19 Hotline at 270-256-5535 if you are experiencing fever, cough and shortness of breath, a triage nurse will help determine if or where you need to seek care.
Beginning at 8 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, March 24, 2020, OCH will have a COVID-19 Screening Center at the corner of Clay Street and McMurtry Avenue. OCH nurses will be on hand to provide car-side screening services. If additional testing or treatment is needed, you will be directed to the best location. The Screening Center will be open from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.
If you are experiencing severe shortness of breath, go directly to the Emergency Room.
New Visitor Restrictions:
OCH has implemented a temporary no visitor policy. If you require a special exemption due to a patient receiving end-of-life care or for pediatric patients, check with the nurse or receptionist.
