MORGANTOWN, Ky. — Tommy Joe Bratcher Sr., 68, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, at his residence. Tommy was born Sept. 30, 1951, in Hartford, Kentucky, to the late Verlene Bratcher Johnson.
He was a retired drywall hanger and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and old cars. Tommy also enjoyed drinking coffee with his buddies and loved spending time with family and friends.
Other than his mother Tommy is preceded in death by his father, Bearuther Johnson; grandparents, John Martin and Doni Myrtle Bratcher; three sisters, Irene Bratcher, Janette Bratcher, and Letha Burden; and three brothers Johnny, Doris, and Dwight Bratcher.
Tommy Joe Bratcher Sr. is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Lisa Dockery Bratcher, of Morgantown; four sons, Tracy Joe Bratcher (Chasity), of Owensboro, Kentucky, Tommy Joe Bratcher Jr. (Brittany), of Morgantown, John Paul Bratcher (Tiffany), of Morgantown, and Lucas Cole Bratcher (Caitlyn), of Morgantown; one daughter, Cassie Jo Bratcher, (Chelsie), of Morgantown; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; seven sisters, Viva Sermon, of Columbus, Ohio, Emma Snodgrass, of Morgantown, Vernece Mason, of Morgantown, Sue Beasley (Belvin), of Caneyville, Kentucky, Carolyn Sermon (Ollie), of Horse Branch, Kentucky, Hilda Young, of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Janice Martin (Charles), of Philpot, Kentucky; two brothers, Denny Bratcher (Ellen), of Caneyville, and Steven Johnson (Kaye), of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
All services are private and under the direction of the Jones Funeral Chapel.
