SAMPLE, Ky. — Jean Haycraft Horsley, 86, of Sample, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, at Hardinsburg Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Sample on March 26, 1933, the daughter of the late William and Mary Ruth Dowell Haycraft.
Jean attended Sample United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed yard sales, fishing, and playing the lottery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion, George Horsley; former husband, William Horsley; granddaughter, Brooke Horsley; brothers Virgil “Sam” and Harold Haycraft; and sister, Dorothy Haycraft.
Jean is survived by five children, David Horsley, of Sample, Tony Horsley (Wendy), of Concordia, Kentucky, Pat Stilwell (Greg), of Kingswood, Kentucky, Donna Smith, of Sample, and Tammy Allen (Ricky), of Centertown, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren, David Horsley (Holly), Jeremy Horsley (Casey), Dustin Horsley (Shannon), Brent Stilwell (Samantha), Jeannie Norton (Mark), Brittany Poole, Ashley Smith, Joshua Shartzer, Travis Shartzer, Jacob Shartzer, and Jacoby Allen; 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at Jolly Cemetery in Sample on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Gary Jones officiating under the direction of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.
