BEAVER DAM, Ky. — James William Hohimer, 95, of Beaver Dam, passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at Beaver Dam Nursing & Rehab Center. He was born June 26, 1924, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Elijah Hohimer and Myrtle Hounton Hohimer.
Mr. Hohimer was a retired custom cabinet maker and enjoyed digging ginseng. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Earline Carroll, Gene Hohimer, Wilba Hohimer, and one half-brother, Nokle Roach.
Survivors include two sons, Keith (Sandra) Hohimer, of Centertown, Kentucky, and Eddie (Brenda) Hohimer, of Olaton, Kentucky; two daughters, Shirley Griffin, of Rosine, Kentucky, and Tina (Joe) Lamar, of Cromwell, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Huff, of Owensboro, Kentucky, Brandon (Lou) Hohimer, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Tiffany Hohimer, of Bowling Green, Kyle Hohimer, of Olaton, and Lynnann (Darin) Green, of Beaver Dam; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Kenny Sapp officiating. Burial will follow in Centertown Cemetery. Friends may visit with Mr. Hohimer’s family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
