ECHOLS, Ky. — Sara Louise “Lou” Farris, 71, of Echols, passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born Aug. 7, 1948, in Harlan, Kentucky, to the late Johnny Smith and Bessie Cavins Smith.
Lou was a homemaker.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy D. Farris; daughter, Chasity Farris; infant son, John C. Farris; three siblings, Frankie Smith, J.C. Smith, and Faye Daugherty.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two children, Delbert Farris, of Echols, and Shannon (Timmy “Red”) Holmes, of Livermore, Kentucky; four grandchildren, McKenna Holmes, Trinity Holmes, Olivia Farris, and Dalton Farris; four siblings, Tom Smith, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Sue (Bill) Middleton, of McHenry, Kentucky, Bea (Roy R.) Farris, and Kat (Scott) McLain, of McHenry; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Lealin Geary officiating. Friends may visit with Lou’s family Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
