CENTERTOWN, Ky. — Sandra Elaine “Sandy” Geary Phelps, 66, of Centertown, passed away Sept. 28, 2019, surrounded by her family at Norton’s Healthcare in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born April 25, 1953, in Leitchfield, Kentucky, to the late Robert William Geary and Sally Ann Evans Geary.
Sandy retired from Ohio County Healthcare and worked for many years at Beaver Dam Café.
Aside from her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie (Elaine) Geary, and four sisters, Rose (Charles) Maiden, Faye (Jim) Naue, Mattie (Royce) Bratcher, and Helen Geary.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Gary Phelps, of Centertown; two children, Robbie (Nicole) Taylor, of McHenry, Kentucky, and Tonya Taylor, of Centertown; seven grandchildren, Baylee Taylor, Ella Garner, Daniel Garner, Colby (Emily) Garner, Bryson, Kierston, and Shayleigh; two brothers, William “Bill” (Cherlyn) Geary, of Morgantown, Kentucky, and Ray “Bucky” (Wendy) Geary, of Morgantown, Kentucky; two sisters, Anna (Dave) Filmore, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kay (Kent) Kassinger, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; and one sister-in-law, Mary June Smith, of Centertown.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Gleanie Geary and Bro. Richard Naue officiating. Burial will follow in Geary Cemetery in Horse Branch, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Sandy’s family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
