BRANDENBURG, Ky. — Lindon C. Daugherty, 88, of Brandenburg, formerly of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019, at the Brandenburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Lindon was born Oct. 2, 1930, in Butler County, Kentucky, to the late Roma F. and Buena Embry Daugherty and husband of the late Melvolia Blanch Hunt Daugherty.
He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and Happiness Way Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. He loved gospel music and was the founder of the Canaan Land Quartet & the By Standers.
Other than his parents and wife he is preceded in death by three children, Lindon C. Daugherty Jr., Melia Cochran, and Phillip Daugherty, and several brothers and sisters.
Lindon C. Daugherty is survived by two children, Jeff W. Daugherty (Glenda), of Battletown, Kentucky, and Angela Wise (Roger), of Hillview, Kentucky; three granddaughters, Erica Solis, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Brittany Romero, of Clarksville, Indiana, and Miranda Wise, of Jeffersonville, Indiana; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Morris D. Daugherty (Jane), of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; one sister, Evanell Walker, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; sweetheart, Effie Hunt, of Gilstrap, Kentucky; and special friend, David Smith (RuthAnn), of Brandenburg.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Monday Sept. 16, at 1 p.m. with Bro. John Daugherty officiating. Burial will be held in the Belmont Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 16, from 10:30 a.m. until funeral time at 1 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
