BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Jimmie Dale Hobdy, 80, of Beaver Dam, passed away Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, at his home. He was born Aug. 4, 1939, in McHenry, Kentucky, to the late Herbert C. Hobdy and Irene Minton Hobdy.
Jimmie Dale retired from the railroad where he worked many years as a welder. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and served in the United States Army. He enjoyed cruising on his trike he built with his own hands.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheree Mechell Hobdy; two brothers, Roy Hobdy and Johnny Hobdy; two sisters, Nancy Raley and Caroline Raines; and his first wife, Norma Jean Hobdy.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of seven years, Barbara Hobdy, of Beaver Dam; four children, Tina Maria Warren, of Centertown, Kentucky, Dwayne Dustin Hobdy, of Centertown, Shawn Deon (Allison) Hobdy, of Beaver Dam, and Eric Jason Hobdy, of Beaver Dam; three stepchildren, Travis Stewart, of Bremen, Kentucky, Amber New, of Grayville, Illinois, and Tiffany (Chris) Bass, of Louisville, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren, Heather Pirtle, Jessica Warren, Vincent Hunter Hobdy, Erika Sheree Hobdy, Issabella Ophelia Hobdy, Sarah Beth Hobdy, Piper Jean Hobdy, Aiden Shawn Hobdy, Amy Smith, Dakota New and Navaeh New; six great-grandchildren, Jenna Paige Hinton, Jaylynne Mechell Hinton, Klayton Decker, Kolson Decker, Sierra Widner, and Aiden Thomas Sowders; two brothers, Jackie (Joan) Hobdy, of Beaver Dam, and Bobby (Cathy) Hobdy, of McHenry; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Gary Hines officiating. Burial will follow in Render Memorial Cemetery in McHenry, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Jimmie Dale’s family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
