BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Billy Joe Alvey, 85, of Beaver Dam, died Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at his home. Billy Joe was born in Hartford, Kentucky, to the late William A. and Bessie Irwin Alvey.
He was an electrician, a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, a member of the American Legion #0055, and UMWA.
He was preceded in death by his son Michael J. Alvey.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Alvey; a daughter, Vicki Bartlett(Glen); daughter-in-law, Lollie Alvey; five grandchildren, Donny Alvey (Jessica), Daniel Alvey, Natalie Buchanan (Bryan), Carissa Wethington (Aaron), and Caleb Bartlett; and seven great-grandchildren, Dylan Alvey, Emma Alvey, Asa Buchanan, Abby Buchanan, Ally Buchanan, Myles Wethington, and Lincoln Wethington.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Mike Atkins officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunnydale Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the Ohio County Honor Guard.
