HARDINSBURG, Ky. — Travis Sidney Eskridge, 90, of Hardinsburg, died Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Breckinridge Memorial Nursing Facility. He was born in Madrid, Kentucky, June 12, 1928, the son of the late Paul Andrew and Mary Aliene Miller Eskridge.

Travis was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a farmer. For several years, he worked at Breckinridge County High School as a janitor and later at Towne and Country Pharmacy. Travis loved his horses, coon hunting, and collecting knives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert; sisters, Opal Marshall and Naomi Simmons; and brothers, LaMoin and Herschel Eskridge.

Travis is survived by his wife, Judy Smith Eskridge, whom he married June 7, 1957; daughter, Kalia Eskridge, of Louisville, Kentucky; daughter-in-law, Teresa Eskridge, of Louisville; 3 grandchildren, Jason, Chelsea, and April; eight great-grandchildren, Aurora, Keira, Abbey, Sydney, Summer, Kody, Raelie, and Katelin; one brother, Leon Eskridge, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; and two sisters, Wanda Simmons (Emmett), of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, and Jean Harman (Joe), of Louisville.

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home Wednesday, June 12, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Paul Williams officiating.

Burial with military honors will be held at New Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
