BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Jewel Glendon Schroader, 81, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 30, 2019, at his residence, with his family by his side. He was born Aug. 12, 1937. in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Herman Estill and Nina Louise Leisure Schroader.
Mr. Schroader worked for Peabody Coal Company at Ken Underground, River Queen and eventually retired from Martwick Mines.
Jewel enjoyed farming and over the years, tending to his cattle, fishing with his wife, Anna Marie and he was widely known for his beautiful vegetable garden.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie Igleheart Schroader; a brother, Charles Lee Schroader; and several infant siblings.
Survivors include his children, Barry (Brenda) Schroader, of Beaver Dam, and Jerry (Lisa) Schroader, of Beaver Dam; one brother, Larry David Schroader, of Beaver Dam; and two sisters, Brenda Leach, of Beaver Dam, and Betty (Darrell) Leach, of Beaver Dam. Jewel was blessed with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Jason Bratcher officiating. Burial will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Friends may visit with Jewel’s family from 12 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
